Timeless Toscana

Today was less about ticking off the attractions and must see items and more about spending time in Tuscany with each other, enjoying the locations and reminding ourselves how lucky we are to be here.

Before we left home there was an agreement of one purchase that was going to be made without exception, Cortona pottery. We already have some small items at home, salt and pepper shaker, garlic jar, and small wine carafe.

These items are used by us almost every day if not at least once a week. For us they serve as great reminders of this place Tuscany and the joy it brings.

The pottery is made here in Tuscany in the hilltop town of Cortona at Terrabruga and is well worth the look if ever in Cortona

One thing we noticed today about Cortona is it has changed, since our first visit in 2012.  The town has grown up a little taking on the tourism and becoming more appealing to the English speaking tourist, not the local home town Italian shopper.

Cortona is still a lovely town to visit but with tourist shops now outnumbering the local consumer shops and English being heard by most passers in the street, we feel, it has changed.

After a quick shopping stop for our pottery we headed off to Castiglione del Lago. This also was a place we visited before but had never spent any time on the lakes side.  So rather than venturing into the old town I pointed Pietro in the direction of the lake shore and was lucky enough to find a place to sit, relax and enjoy the view while having some lunch.

The afternoon was spent back at LaMaesta finishing the editing on "That's Amore" and then time in the pool.

Tonight we are dining with Rosalinda and her family, it is sure to be a feast.

P.S. Blogging isn't all fun and games, here is Katie focused on last nights blog rather than the view.

Katie - Last night blogging.
Tomorrow, take me to the mountain.
